| This trip begins just downstream from the Taos Box run on the Rio Grande River. The first few miles are calm as the river enters the Orilla Verde Recreation Area. Orilla Verde, in Spanish, means "green banks", which perfectly describes this section of river. Popular with fishermen and birdwatchers, this is a lush, quiet section of the river, perfect for a relaxing morning float. After lunch, you'll be ready for a little excitement, which you'll get on the "Racecourse" section.
Great for ages 7 and up. Lunch provided.
